A recent quantitative study found an increased need for health education specialists to use social media, as it is becoming a quick, effective way to spread health messages and reach a large, diverse audience. Results showed 80 percent of the population did not prefer using social media, while most saw several benefits of utilizing social media, including networking, information exchange, and increasing awareness of health issues.
